Are Pons avarcas handmade in Menorca, Spain?
Yes, Pons avarcas are handcrafted in Menorca. Only genuine avarcas carry the “avarca de Menorca” tag a collaborative effort between the local government and the shoemaker association to ensure the highest quality standards while preserving and protecting the artisans and tradition of the island.

Do we ship all over US?
Yes. We deliver to all states within the United States (Hawaii, Alaska and Puerto Rico included) from our warehouse in San Diego (California). Please notice that different shipping fees may apply depending on the shipping address.

Do we ship internationally?
Yes, we deliver all over the world. Please notice that different shipping fees may apply depending on the shipping address.

I wear a half-size and you carry whole sizes. Which size is right for me?
We recommend that you check our size conversion charts (below) for specific measurements of the style and model you are interested in. Please note that our Pons avarcas and Laro espadrilles have different sizing charts and recommendations as they are two different brands:

• Pons Avarcas: Since the leather will stretch slightly with wear, most of our half-size wearing customers find success choosing the smaller of the two sizes they are in between. You should compare your foot measurement with our sizing chart to make the best choice.

• Laro Espadrilles: Most of our half-size wearing customers find success choosing the larger of the two sizes they are in between. Please check our sizing chart to make the best choice.

Size Conversion Chart - Avarcas

We recognize that everyone's two feet are different and unique to the individual. Our sizing recommendations are only suggestions, not guarantees, and it is the customer's decision of which size to purchase. We are happy to answer any questions you may have to help with your decision!

All measurements are taken from the white stitching around the sole, measuring between the heel and toe stitches, not the full length of the shoe's sole. This helps to ensure your foot will fit within the shoes and not out to the edge of the sole.

Women's and Men's Avarcas:
Our Pons with leather toes will stretch slightly and soften with wear. If you have a narrow foot, you may consider sizing down. All styles run true to US size with standard widths.

Children's Avarcas:
The Frailera Style runs a bit small because of the enclosed leather heel and you may want to size up. Kids Classic runs true to size.

Size Conversion Chart - Espadrilles

If you have worn our Pons previously, we recommend you compare your foot measurement to the sizing chart before ordering as Laro espadrilles are a separate brand and may fit you differently.

All measurements are taken on the upper sole from the heel seam to the toe seam.

Shoe Care Instructions

FULL GRAIN

To remove dirt and dust, wipe gently with a dry cloth (avoid dyed cloth or towels to ensure the color doesn't bleed). Then, very lightly dampen the cloth with water and gently wipe again. Leather should always be allowed to dry naturally and away from direct sunlight or heat as both can damage the damp leather. If the shoes are only scratched or scuffed and not dirty, you can buff most marks out by rubbing with a dry soft cloth, applying medium pressure.

To weatherproof your shoes, we suggest using a water and stain repellent non-silicone leather spray. Place a towel or cloth inside the shoe to cover the sole before spraying the shoes. We do not recommend any specific brands, so the products you choose to use are at your own discretion.

METALLIC LEATHERS

To remove dirt and dust, wipe gently with a dry cloth (avoid dyed cloth or towels to ensure the color doesn't bleed). Then, very lightly dampen the cloth with water and gently wipe again. Leather should always be allowed to dry naturally and away from direct sunlight or heat as both can damage the damp leather.

Do not use any water or stain repellent sprays on metallic leathers.

SUEDE / NUBUCK LEATHERS

To clean, use a rubber pencil eraser to remove dirt spots and smudges - be gentle when you rub the leather. Then, brush lightly with a soft brush made specifically for suede and nubuck products. Be sure each stroke of your brush is in the same direction. If you brush in different directions, certain suede leathers will give the appearance of being two different colors or begin to pill. We do not recommend using a wire brush or any kind of polish on suede or nubuck leathers.

To weatherproof, follow up with a water & stain repellent spray designed specifically for suede leathers. Place a towel or cloth inside the shoe to cover the sole before spraying the shoes. We do not recommend any specific brands, so the products you choose to use are at your own discretion.

CANVAS

To remove dirt and spots, wipe stained or dirty areas gently with a damp cloth and a drop of of gentle soap (avoid dyed cloth or towels to ensure the color doesn't bleed). Follow up with a damp cloth of just water to wipe away any excess soap. Allow to dry naturally and away from direct sunlight or heat as both can cause the damp canvas to warp or shrink.

All orders ship from the US. We ship within the US (including Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico) and internationally anywhere in the world.

DOMESTIC SHIPPING

We offer FREE standard shipping for all domestic orders. Expedited shipping options and rates are in the chart, below. These rates do not apply to wholesale orders. Shipping fees are non-refundable in the event of a return or an exchange. All domestic orders normally ship with a tracking confirmation number.

For our Canadian customers, we offer $10 flat rate international shipping for orders with one item, and $5 per additional item. This flat rate does not apply to wholesale orders. Shipping fees are non-refundable in the event of a return or an exchange. All Canadian orders normally ship with a tracking confirmation number.

All international orders are shipped USPS International. USPS provides delivery confirmation scans for the countries listed: Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Great Britain, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Netherlands, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, Slovak Republic, Spain, Switzerland and Turkey. The delivery confirmation number will not provide tracking for the item as it is being shipped, only confirmation once the order is delivered to the shipping address. We are unable to provide any delivery confirmation or tracking for countries not listed above. You will be provided a tracking number that will only update while the package is within US borders. Once an order has cleared US customs, it is transferred to the destination country's national postal service to complete delivery.

All orders ship from our warehouse in San Diego, California. If you are in a rush and need to receive your order by a specific date, please feel free to contact our Customer Service team or purchase expedited shipping (domestic only). You will receive a shipping confirmation e-mail with the tracking number once your order has been fulfilled. Please allow at least 24 hours for the tracking information to updated before reviewing your orders tracking status.

Once an order is received by the postal carrier and no longer in the possession of Avarcas USA, it is under the care and liability of the carrier to deliver the item. Each individual order is packed and leaves the warehouse in a new shipment box. We cannot take responsibility for items lost or stolen after a package is confirmed as delivered by tracking, and will not refund a lost or stolen item. We encourage customers who find that their tracking status is 'Delivered' yet they have not received their package and/or believe it to be lost or stolen, to follow up with a claim through the carrier and speak to their local delivery personnel to gather as much information as possible. We are happy to provide whatever information is needed to assist with opening a claim.

Need to make a return or exchange?

Returns

If you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase from AvarcasUSA.com, you can return your item for a refund or exchange within 30 days from the Shipping Date. (Outlet sales are final sale, and not eligible for returns or exchanges.) We will not accept any returns after 30 days from the Shipping Date. Before returning an item, you must receive a Return Authorization number (RA#) from our customer service team. We will not accept any returns without an RA# and all returns will be subject to inspection. Please make sure that the merchandise is in its original packaging and placed inside another shipping box (not a bag or bubble/cushion mailer - returns that do not arrive in a box will not be accepted). Merchandise must be returned in original condition. Returns received in worn condition cannot be accepted for an exchange or a refund. We reserve the right to deny or refuse an order based on the returned condition. It may take 4 to 5 days for your returned pair(s) to reach our warehouse and we encourage customers to follow their returns' tracking number.

Please be aware that the shipping cost of returning the order back to our warehouse for a refund or exchange is the buyer's responsibility.

Exchange

We are happy to exchange unworn non-Outlet Pons Avarcas or Laro Espadrilles purchased from AvarcasUSA.com for another size and/or color (Outlet Items are Final Sale and cannot be exchanged). Exchanges are required to receive a Return Authorization number as mentioned above (under the 'Returns' section). The shipping cost of returning the order back to our warehouse for exchange is the buyer's responsibility. Rates for shipping the exchanged item back to you are below. Any shipping fee will be sent via email as a Paypal Invoice. Once paid, we will ship out the requested item. Only one exchange per item will be honored at the rates below. Any additional exchanges on the same item will be invoiced for the full shipping cost.

For an exchange with faster turnaround, we recommend you return the original order for a refund and place a new order for the desired pair; otherwise, the original order will need to process in our warehouse before the exchanged pair is shipped out.

Exchanges received past 30 Days from their Shipping Date are processed as a 'Belated Exchange.' Belated Exchanges are subject to a $10 Late Fee and are no longer be eligible for flat rate shipping and will be invoiced for the full Shipping Fee. Exceptions provided for Belated Exchanges are not able to return the late exchange for a refund. For any Belated Exchange that causes any change in price from the original item will be treated as follows. For any cost above the original order total, the difference will be invoiced along with the Late Fee and Shipping Fee. For any cost below the original order total, the difference will be retained as store credit which can be applied to any future purchase and the Late and Shipping Fees will be invoiced.

Refunds

Once your order is received at our warehouse and inspected by personnel (usually within 72 hours of receipt), your refund will be processed and automatically applied to your credit card or original method of payment within 7 days. Please note that depending on your credit card company, bank, and/or PayPal - it may take an additional 2 to 10 business days after your credit is applied for it to you post to your account. Any Shipping Fee paid by the customer will not be refunded.

Outlet

We are happy to offer a selection of our Pons sandals at a reduced price. These are pairs of Pons Avarcas that don't quite meet our high standards at first, but deserve a second chance since their only flaws are purely cosmetic (color variations in the leather, a small scratch, etc.) All pairs available through our Outlet section are FINAL SALE, and not available to be returned or exchanged (no exception.)
