We recommend using an all-natural leather cleaning agent and a microfiber cloth to buff out minor stains and light scratches. Leather should always be allowed to dry naturally and away from direct sunlight or heat, as both can damage the damp leather. For cleaning the inside (footbed) of the shoe, we recommend using a natural/ fragrance-free baby wipe or damp cloth.
To clean, use a soft brush made specifically for suede and nubuck products and lightly brush the leather. Be sure each stroke of the brush is in the same direction. We do not recommend using a wire brush or any kind of polish on our nubuck leathers.
To remove dirt and dust, gently wipe with a dry cloth making sure to not scratch the top layer of Metallic coating. Then, lightly dampen the cloth with water and gently wipe again. Leather should always be allowed to dry naturally and away from direct sunlight or heat as both can damage the damp leather.
To clean and care for your Glitter Pons we do not recommend exposing your shoes to water, as the glue used to adhere the glitter is not waterproof or water-resistant. The multilayer base of Glitter Pons are subject to peeling if the shoes are rubbed or scraped against any surfaces. The longevity of these decorative shoes depends on the amount of wear, care, and environmental factors that the shoes are exposed to. Exposure to elements like water may weaken the glue keeping the glitter chunks in place.
To remove dirt and dust, gently wipe with a dry cloth. Then, lightly dampen the cloth with water and gently wipe again. Allow the shoes to dry naturally away from direct sunlight or heath as both can damage the Vegan leather.
To remove dirt and spots, wipe stained or dirty areas gently with a damp cloth and a drop of gentle soap. Follow up with a damp cloth of just water to wipe away any excess soap. Avoid dyed cloth or towels to ensure the color doesn't bleed. Allow to dry naturally and away from direct sunlight or heat as both can cause the damp canvas to warp or shrink.
Piñatex is a textile made from waste pineapple leaf fiber which can be used as an alternative to leather and other synthetic materials. It is fully plant based and plastic free. The makers of Piñatex recommend using a natural colorless wax to keep the shoes looking hydrated. Apply your wax of choice sparingly with a clean cloth and leave to dry. Piñatex is water resistant, not waterproof, and should be kept dry.
Pons sandals are not waterproof and should be kept dry as much as possible to increase the longevity of the shoes. Water can degrade the structure of the glue used to construct the sandal.
We do not recommend any specific brands, so the products you choose to use are at your own discretion as we have not tested them.
